Non-Reef Safe

“Non-Reef Safe” species are those that are not suitable for coral tanks, as they’re likely to nip at or damage corals, eat invertebrates or generally cause havoc in a reef setup. This collection includes fish and inverts better suited to fish-only or FOWLR aquariums, where their natural behaviours and diets won’t be a problem. Many make stunning, characterful display animals, but they should be chosen with care, matched with appropriate tank mates, and kept out of coral-filled systems to avoid expensive losses.
