Tancho is a specialist class reserved only for Kohaku, Sanke and Showa that display hi (red) on the head alone, usually as a single circular or oval marking, with no red present on the body.
Fish of other varieties that happen to show a Tancho-style head spot are exhibited within their normal variety classes rather than in the Tancho group.
