Tono’s Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus tonozukai)
Tono’s Fairy Wrasse is a rare and exquisitely coloured reef fish, treasured for its vibrant hues and peaceful temperament. Males in particular display stunning shades of red, orange, and iridescent highlights that intensify during courtship or display. Like other fairy wrasses, they are hardy, active swimmers and make a superb addition to a peaceful reef aquarium.

Origin / Natural Habitat:
Western Pacific, particularly Indonesia and the Philippines. Found on outer reef slopes and rubble zones, usually at depths of 20–40 metres.

Temperament:
Peaceful – suitable for reef aquariums. Best kept singly or as a male-female pair; males may become aggressive toward other wrasses of similar appearance.

Carnivorous. Thrives on a varied diet of frozen or live meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Will also accept high-quality marine pellets and flakes.

Behaviour & Activity:
Active midwater swimmer. Known for its graceful movement and striking courtship displays. Requires a covered aquarium, as wrasses are expert jumpers.
Special Requirements or Care Notes:
Provide plenty of rockwork for shelter and open swimming space.
A secure lid is essential to prevent jumping.
Reef-safe and will not harm corals or invertebrates.

Intermediate to experienced marine aquarists.
