Description

Ricordea Yuma mushrooms require low-to-moderate lighting (50–150 PAR) and low-flow, stable water conditions, ideally with lower, "dirtier" nutrient levels. They are hardy, photosynthetic, and best placed on the sandbed or lower rockwork. They can be fed occasionally with meaty foods but are prone to bleaching under high light.

Key Care Requirements

Water Flow: Low to moderate, or "gentle" flow to prevent them from detaching.
Placement: Bottom of the tank, on sandbed or in shaded, lower-rockwork areas.

Water Quality: Stable, but Yumas often prefer slightly higher nitrate and phosphate levels than other corals.

Feeding: Primarily photosynthetic, but benefit from spot-feeding meaty foods (mysis, brine shrimp) 1-2 times a week.

Tips: They can be aggressive, so allow space between them and other corals.

Substrate: They prefer to attach to hard substrates.

Attachment: Use low flow to help them attach, or place in a container with rubble to let them secure themselves before moving to a final spot.
