Gordon Low Pond Grade Underlay is designed to be laid beneath pond liner to protect the liner from sharp stone and root penetration. Underlays are made from a variety of materials but this underlay is fashioned from 150gsm-thick geotextile felt which is a standard, strong underlay. Easy to install, it creates the ideal surface for any pond liner.

What are Gordon Low underlays made from?

Gordon Low Underlays are made from high-quality geotextile felt that are permeable materials that come in three forms: woven, needle punched or heat bonded. Sourced in Europe, they have the ability to protect and drain and act as a protective layer.

What are the benefits of underlays?

To create the perfect pond, we always recommend using a pond underlay with all pond liners. Acting as a barrier, pond underlays will reduce the chance of any surprise leaks, holes which would occur from punctures under the liner or excessive stretching of the liner which could be caused by the ground settling over a period of time.

What size underlay do I need for my pond?

This pond underlay is supplied by the running metre in 2-metre widths so when placing your order all you will need to do is enter the quantity you require. For example, if you are purchasing a 10 x 5m pond liner the quantity you would enter in the underlay amount would be 25. To work this out you simply do 10 x 5 = 50 / 2 = 25.
