CB Northern Banded Knob-Tailed Gecko (Nephrurus Cinctus)
Habitat and Enclosure:
1. Enclosure Size: A 10-20 gallon tank is suitable for one adult gecko. These geckos are terrestrial, so floor space is more important than height.
2. Temperature: Create a temperature gradient with a basking spot around 85-90°F and a cooler area around 70-75°F. Night temperatures can drop to around 65-70°F.
3. Humidity: They require low to moderate humidity levels (around 30-40%). Occasional misting can help, especially during shedding periods.
4. Substrate: Use a substrate that allows for burrowing, like a sand/soil mix.
5. Environmental Enrichment: Include hiding spots, and low branches or rocks for climbing.
Diet:
1. Primary Diet: Insectivores, feeding on small insects like crickets, roaches, and mealworms.
2. Supplements: Dust food with calcium and vitamin D3 supplements, especially for growing juveniles.
3. Feeding Frequency: Feed adults 2-3 times a week and juveniles every other day.
