In the wild the Boxer Crab (aka Pom Pom Crab) will defend itself from would be predators by clutching anemones in each chelae and holding them out; as they are equipped with potent stinging cells. The anemones aren't just 'boxing gloves' for the crab, they are also used for capturing small particles of food. Ensure there are plenty of shady nooks for the crab to hide in as they are not keen on bright lights.
