Description

Bali Aquarich Nebula Clownfish (Amphiprion percula)

The Bali Aquarich Nebula Clownfish is a striking captive-bred designer clownfish recognised for its highly individual white patterning over a vivid orange base. Each fish can display a different balance of white, orange and black, creating a distinctive nebula-like appearance. Hardy, reef safe and full of character, it is well suited to established marine aquariums and can be maintained singly or as a compatible pair.

Common Name:
Bali Aquarich Nebula Clownfish, Nebula Clownfish

Scientific Name (Latin):
Amphiprion percula

Maximum Size:
Approximately 8–10 cm

Water Type:
Marine

Origin / Natural Habitat:
The Bali Aquarich Nebula Clownfish is a captive-bred ornamental form of Amphiprion percula selectively developed for its unusual white patterning and distinctive appearance.

The natural form of Amphiprion percula originates from tropical western Pacific reef environments, where clownfish live in close association with suitable host anemones.

Water Parameters:
Temperature: 24–26°C
pH Range: 8.1–8.4
Salinity: SG 1.024–1.026
Nitrate: Low and stable
Ammonia/Nitrite: 0 ppm

Temperament:
Peaceful to Semi-Aggressive

Nebula Clownfish are generally peaceful towards unrelated marine fish but may become territorial around their chosen shelter or host anemone.

Established pairs can become more defensive, particularly when breeding.

Diet:
Omnivore

Offer a varied diet including quality marine pellets and flakes, frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped prawn and other suitable marine foods.

Algae-based and spirulina-enriched foods can also be included as part of a balanced diet.

Minimum Tank Size:
Approximately 75 litres

A larger aquarium is recommended where the fish will be maintained with several tankmates or as an established pair.

Behaviour & Activity:
The Bali Aquarich Nebula Clownfish is an active but relatively site-attached fish that usually establishes a preferred territory within the aquarium.

It may choose rockwork, coral structure or an available host anemone as its main area.

Pairs form a clear social hierarchy, with the larger dominant individual becoming female.

Reef Safe:
Reef Safe

The Bali Aquarich Nebula Clownfish is generally considered reef safe and does not normally damage healthy corals, clams or established ornamental invertebrates.

A host anemone is not required for successful aquarium care.

Special Requirements or Care Notes:
Provide a mature marine aquarium with stable water chemistry, good filtration and secure rockwork.

A host anemone is optional, and captive-bred clownfish can thrive successfully without one.

When keeping a pair, allow a clear size difference to develop to reduce territorial conflict.

Avoid mixing established clownfish pairs in smaller aquariums, as territorial aggression can occur.

Regular varied feeding and stable water quality will help maintain good body condition and strong colouration.

As this is a selectively bred designer variety, the exact white patterning and balance of orange, black and white will naturally vary between individual fish.

Suitable for:
Beginner to Intermediate
