AI Hydra Edge - Reef LED Light

The AquaIllumination Hydra Edge is a premium reef aquarium LED light designed to deliver broad, even PAR, vivid coral colour and natural shimmer. Featuring EdgeField™ Optics, the new Solar Blue spectrum, Solar Ring shimmer control and AI’s HyperDrive technology, it provides powerful, customisable lighting for SPS, LPS, soft coral and mixed reef aquariums.

When mounted approximately 9 inches above the water, the Hydra Edge can provide coverage of up to 30" x 30". High-light SPS systems may require multiple fixtures or reduced spacing to achieve the desired PAR levels.

EdgeField™ Optics

EdgeField™ Optics provide broad light distribution, smooth colour blending and reduced hotspots.

The wide optical spread helps create consistent illumination across the aquarium while producing a clean, natural reef appearance.

Solar Blue Spectrum

The Solar Blue spectrum combines blue, royal blue, violet, UV and white channels to support coral growth, colouration and fluorescence.

For a simple starting point, setting all channels to equal intensity produces the Solar Blue spectrum, with each channel then adjustable to personal preference.

Solar Ring

The centrally positioned Solar Ring uses cool white and warm white LEDs to create stronger shimmer and natural-looking caustics.

Its output can be adjusted independently, allowing you to choose between a softer, more even appearance or stronger point-source shimmer.

HyperDrive

AI’s HyperDrive technology redirects unused power from one LED channel to another, allowing greater spectrum flexibility and more efficient use of available power.

Smart Control

Control the Hydra Edge using the MyAI or Mobius app on compatible iOS and Android devices.

Important Lighting Advice

Maximum visual coverage does not necessarily mean maximum SPS PAR coverage.

For high-light coral systems, consider:

• Using multiple fixtures

• Reducing fixture spacing

• Measuring PAR where possible

• Gradually acclimating corals to increased intensity
