Housing
- Enclosure: A small, secure container, such as a plastic vial or deli cup, is ideal for a sling of this size. Ensure the enclosure has proper ventilation to prevent stagnant air, but not so large that the sling has difficulty finding its food.
- Substrate: Use a moisture-retaining substrate like coconut fiber or a mix of peat moss and vermiculite. The substrate should be kept lightly moist and be deep enough (2-3 inches) to allow for slight burrowing.
- Humidity: Aim for a humidity level of about 70-80%. This can be maintained by lightly misting the enclosure every few days, ensuring the substrate is moist but not waterlogged.
- Temperature: Keep the temperature within the range of 24-28°C (75-82°F). If necessary, use a heat mat on one side of the enclosure to provide a temperature gradient.

Feeding
- Diet: Feed your Chaco Golden Knee sling small prey items like pinhead crickets, flightless fruit flies, or small roaches once or twice a week. The prey should not be larger than the sling's abdomen to prevent potential harm.
- Water: Slings typically get enough moisture from their diet and the humidity within their enclosure. However, a very shallow water dish can be added, or you can mist one side of the enclosure lightly to provide water droplets for drinking.

General Care
- Molting: Your sling will molt several times as it grows. During molting, it may refuse food and become more reclusive. Increase humidity slightly and refrain from feeding until a couple of days after the molt to allow the new exoskeleton to harden.
- Handling: It's advisable to minimize handling to reduce stress on the tarantula. If necessary, gently coax the sling into a small container for any maintenance tasks.

Social Needs
- Grammostola pulchripes are solitary creatures and do best when housed alone. They do not require or benefit from interaction with other tarantulas.
