Davus Pentalore (Mexican Tiger Rump) 2cm Sling - Image is for illustration purposes only!

Housing
- Enclosure: A small, clear container, like a plastic vial or deli cup, with plenty of ventilation holes will serve well as an enclosure for a 2cm sling. The size should be small enough to prevent the sling from having difficulty finding its food but large enough to allow for some movement.
- Substrate: Use a moisture-retaining substrate such as coconut fiber or peat moss. The substrate should be kept slightly moist and be deep enough (about 2-3 inches) to allow for some burrowing behavior.
-Humidity: Maintain a humidity level around 70-80% through regular misting of the enclosure. However, ensure proper ventilation to prevent mold growth.
- Temperature: A temperature range of 24-28°C (75-82°F) is ideal for promoting healthy growth. If necessary, use a heat mat on one side of the enclosure to achieve this gradient, but monitor closely to avoid overheating.

Feeding
-Diet: Feed your sling small prey items like pinhead crickets, flightless fruit flies, or small roaches once or twice a week. Make sure the prey is not larger than the tarantula's abdomen.
- Water: Slings will generally get enough moisture from their food and the enclosure's humidity. You can also mist one side of the enclosure to create tiny water droplets for the sling to drink from.

General Care
- Molting: As with other tarantulas, your Davus pentalore sling will molt several times as it grows. During molting, it might refuse food and become less active. Increase humidity slightly during this period and refrain from feeding until a couple of days after the molt to allow the new exoskeleton to harden.
- Handling: It's generally best to avoid handling slings due to their delicate nature. If you need to move the sling, gently coax it into a small container instead.

Social Needs
- Davus pentalore are solitary creatures and should be kept alone. They do not require companionship and can become stressed or aggressive if housed with other tarantulas.
