Majestic Angel : A - Widespread Western Pacific, ranging into the Indian Ocean to Western Australia and Sumatra, northwards to the Philippines and Micronesia, and south to the Solomon Islands and northern Great Barrier Reef. Only common in outer reef habitats, coral rich lagoons and outer reef walls in a depth range of about 3 to 35m. The Blue-girdled angel is generally shy and usually seen solitary , occasionally in pairs. Juveniles live in shallow and protected reef areas. The adults are mainly yellow-orange, including the dorsal and caudal fin , whilst the head, pectorals and lower fins are deep blue, edged with a neon-blue. Juveniles are completely different in having numerous light blue vertical lines on a dark blue background. Colour change to adult pattern begins early at a body length of about 5 to 8cm. Length to 25cm.
