HerpChip from HerpXotics is a premium coco husk substrate that is 100% organic, sustainably sourced and perfect for all reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. HerpChip is made from coconut husk generated as a by-product of other industries, making it a sustainable resource. Similar to HerpHusk, the main difference is the large and uniform size of the pieces. HerpChip Mini is also available, which has a smaller uniform size.
When made damp this substrate holds humidity very well, making it perfect for animals requiring high levels of moisture. It’s manufacturing process involves sterilisation so it should not mould or rot, even if made incredibly damp. It can also be used dry for species from arid environments.
It is highly absorbent and keeps odours at bay. Easy to clean and replace these compact bricks need soaking prior to use, where they make 70L of substrate! Buying this substrate in the large bricks makes them much easier to store.
A favourite of our customers, we have found this substrate perfect for Royal/Ball Pythons, though it works equally as well in large vivariums for lizards.
