Flagfin Angel - Indo-Pacific, ranging from East Africa and the Maldives to Samoa, South Pacific, north as far as Japan and south to New Caledonia, but Indian Ocean and Pacific forms are different. Found in clear lagoons and outer reefs at depths of 3-60m, but prefers manly deeper zones of the reef. This fish shines beautifully yellow, and has three name giving spots: a black one (often split in two in adults), on the forehead, and one on each side (almost the color of the body), 'ear-like', behind the head. Length to 25 cm.
