Checkerboard Wrasse - Widespread Indo-West Pacific. Slight geographical variations between Indian and Pacific Oceans, and Red Sea. Various reef habitats, from coastal shallow reef crests and slopes to moderate depths along drop-offs. Adults with one or two yellow saddles over the back and sometimes with a small black spot on upper peduncle. Small juveniles black and white, gradually changing with growth to adult´s pattern. Length to 25cm.
