Description

The Cameroon Dwarf Gecko (Lygodactylus conraui) is a small, arboreal species native to Cameroon and surrounding countries. They are known for their vibrant coloration, with juveniles being brown with a red tail, and adults displaying a yellow head and tail with a light blue body, accented with two rows of small white circles along their backs. Males typically exhibit brighter colors than females. This species reaches an adult size of 2-2.5 inches.

For housing, a 12x12x12 inch enclosure can comfortably accommodate two geckos, and a 10-gallon tank can house two to four. The substrate can be a mixture of coco fiber or peat moss, and the inclusion of live plants and isopods is highly recommended. The geckos enjoy climbing, so cork bark, bamboo, branches, and both live or fake plants should be included. The habitat should be kept at an ambient temperature of 72-78°F with a basking area of 80-85°F, and UV lighting is recommended. Humidity should be maintained at 60-70%, with daily misting to keep the substrate moist and provide drinking water through water droplets. A shallow water dish is optional.

Their diet consists of small crickets, melanogaster fruit flies, isopods, and springtails. It's crucial that the insects offered are small enough to fit between the gecko's eyes. Insects should be dusted with a vitamin/mineral supplement, and a gecko diet mix can be offered once a week as a supplement.
