Caring for Bauer's Chameleon Gecko (*Eurydactylodes agricolae*) involves creating a habitat that mimics their natural environment in New Caledonia, focusing on arboreal elements, suitable temperature, humidity, and diet. These geckos are relatively easy to care for and are known for their calm temperament, making them suitable for beginners. They can live for 10-15 years or more in captivity, displaying a range of green colors with potential orange and yellow patterns.

Enclosure:
A minimum size for an adult Bauer's Chameleon Gecko is a 30x30x45 cm glass terrarium, which allows for proper ventilation and humidity control. Younger geckos should start in smaller setups to facilitate feeding and growth monitoring. The enclosure should include a variety of small vines, sticks, artificial plants, and coco fiber to create hiding spots and climbing opportunities. A bioactive setup is also beneficial for maintaining humidity levels.

Temperature and Humidity:
The geckos require ambient temperatures of 20-24°C with a basking spot of 25-27°C. Nighttime temperatures should not drop below 18°C. Humidity should be maintained around 50%, increasing to 70-80% during misting sessions. Regular misting is necessary to maintain these levels, adjusted based on your location's climate.

Lighting:
UVB lighting is not necessary due to their nocturnal nature but can be beneficial. If provided, a 2.4% UVB bulb placed on the enclosure's mesh top is recommended to simulate their natural environment. Lighting schedules should mimic natural day lengths, with less light in winter and more in summer.

Diet:
Bauer's Chameleon Geckos are omnivorous, thriving on a diet of fruit mix (CGD) and live insects such as 1/4" crickets or fruit flies. Insects should be dusted with a high-quality Calcium D3 supplement. The fruit mix should be refreshed every 48 hours, and live food should be offered in moderation to encourage consumption of CGD. Ensure insects are appropriately sized, no larger than the space between the gecko's eye.

Cohabitation and Handling:
Although hatchlings can be more flighty, Bauer's Chameleon Geckos get used to handling with age. They are more territorial within their enclosure but generally friendly and easy to handle once outside. Cohabitation is possible with careful monitoring, especially regarding food competition and aggression.
