Housing
- Enclosure: A small enclosure, such as a plastic container or a mesh cage, works well. The space should be at least three times the height of the mantis to allow for proper molting, and at least twice as wide as the mantis is long to allow for adequate movement. Ensure there is proper ventilation.
- Substratrate: A simple paper towel at the bottom of the enclosure works for easy cleaning, though some keepers prefer to use coconut fiber or peat moss for a more naturalistic setup. 
- Humidity: Maintain a humidity level around 60-70%. This can be achieved by misting the enclosure lightly every day or two, depending on the ventilation and ambient humidity.
- Temperature: A temperature range of 24-30°C (75-86°F) during the day, with a slight drop at night, is suitable. Room temperature is often sufficient, but a gentle heat source may be needed in cooler environments.

Feeding
- Diet: Feed your L3+ Malay Flower Mantis small live prey, such as fruit flies (Drosophila spp.), small crickets, or other suitable insects. Feeding should occur every 2-3 days, adjusting based on the mantis's appetite and condition.
- Feeding Tips: Ensure the prey items are not too large for the mantis to handle. Watching your mantis hunt can be fascinating and is a good way to ensure it is eating properly.

General Care
- Molting: Provide plenty of vertical space and hanging points, such as twigs or mesh, for the mantis to hang from when molting. Molting is a critical process where the mantis is very vulnerable, so avoid disturbing it during this time.
- Handling: While it can be tempting to handle your mantis, minimal handling is recommended, especially around molting times. If you must handle your mantis, be gentle and ensure your hands are clean to prevent transferring any harmful substances.

Social Needs
- Creobroter urbanus, like most mantis species, is solitary and should be housed individually to prevent cannibalism. They do not require or benefit from companionship.

Observation and Adjustment
- Regular observation is key to successful mantis care. Watch for signs of stress, illness, or difficulty molting, and adjust humidity, temperature, or feeding as necessary. Each mantis has its preferences and behaviors, so adapt your care to meet your specific mantis's needs.
