Habitat and Enclosure:
1. Enclosure Size: A 20-gallon tank is suitable for a single skink, but larger is better to provide ample space for exploration.
2. Temperature: Maintain a temperature gradient with a basking spot around 85-90°F and a cooler area around 70-75°F. Nighttime temperatures can drop slightly.
3. Humidity: Moderate humidity levels (around 50-60%) are ideal. Regular misting can help maintain these levels.
4. Substrate: Use a moisture-retaining substrate like coconut fiber or sphagnum moss.
5. Environmental Enrichment: Provide hiding spots, climbing branches, and foliage to simulate their natural environment.
Diet:
1. Primary Diet: They are omnivores. Feed a variety of fruits, vegetables, and protein sources like insects or boiled eggs.
2. Supplements: Dust food with calcium and vitamin D3 supplements.
3. Feeding Frequency: Feed adults every other day and juveniles daily.
