Lemon Peel - Melanesia - Ranges in the Western Pacific from southern Japan, Micronesia and Philippines to Coral Sea, central Pacific to the Marquesas and southeastern Indian Ocean, but not into Indonesia, except for Irian Jaya. Separate and different-looking population in Christmas Island. In most areas this species is usually seen at a depth of about 20m, sometimes at 25m in coral rich areas, but in Guam it is a common species and often much shallower. Very distinctive species being bright yellow with iridescent blue lines highlighting the eyes, gills and fins. Juveniles feature a large blue-edged black ocellus centrally on the side. Reaches a size of 14cm.
